Uncompensated Care allows for state-of-the-art health services for all children in our region, regardless of a family's ability to pay, ensuring all children receive the care that they need.

Meet Isaac!
Isaac was diagnosed with a Juvenile Pilocytic Astrocytoma (JPA) brain tumor just before his third birthday. Pediatric brain tumors are very rare and most pediatricians, on average, will see only one case of childhood brain tumors, if that, in their careers. Each tumor requires individual plans, based upon the tumor’s placement in the brain and its severity of symptoms.
Isaac was rushed into emergency surgery the same day his family learned about his tumor and this was the first of more than ten surgeries that Isaac has had up to this point—all at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
Isaac’s family remains eternally grateful to every person at Seattle Children’s Hospital whose tireless work allows children to live! From the pediatric neurosurgeons, to the nurses, to the janitors and security guards, and beyond, each person at SCH plays an important role in performing life-changing surgeries and procedures.
